Dr Oliver Gunson – BM, FRACGP, DRCOG, PgDip (Therapeutics)

Hi! I’m Dr Oliver Gunson

I was born in England and did my medical school training at Southampton University, qualifying in 1992. I practiced in the hospital system in both England and Australia before becoming a GP. Within the hospital, I worked in general medicine, general surgery, care of the elderly, orthopaedics, urology, Accident and Emergency, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology and ENT. I practiced for ten years as a GP in England and have worked on the Sunshine Coast as a GP for nearly 16 years. I am interested in all aspects of General Practice and am a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. I will be starting at Ninox Health in Chancellor Park in September 2025.

Outside of work, I have been married to Karen for nearly 30 years and we have 21 year old twin boys.  I like to read, garden and try and keep fit! I am an avid armchair sportsman with particular interest in cricket, rugby union (Queensland Reds), Formula 1 (Lewis Hamilton) and football with a round ball (Manchester United).
